YEEP Somalia Hosted Youth Workshop on Empowering Youth Through PCVE Knowledge For the PCVE Day
Yesterday, YEEP Somalia successfully hosted a youth workshop at American Corner Mogadishu under the theme “Empowering Youth Through PCVE Knowledge.” The workshop was organized in observance of PCVE Day, aiming to enhance youth awareness and understanding of Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) while strengthening the role of young people in peacebuilding and community resilience.
The session brought together engaged and motivated youth who participated in interactive discussions and group activities focused on understanding violent extremism, preventing radicalization, and promoting leadership, critical thinking, and positive youth engagement. The level of participation and thoughtful dialogue demonstrated the strong potential of youth to act as agents of peace and positive social change within their communities.
YEEP Somalia extends its sincere appreciation to Omar Faruk, Chairperson of the Banadir Youth Region, and Amb Amal Abdullahi representing the Somali National Youth Council, for their valuable presence and contributions. We also thank the American Corner Mogadishu team for their continued cooperation and support in facilitating a conducive learning environment.
Finally, we extend our gratitude to all youth participants whose active engagement, insights, and commitment made the workshop impactful and successful. At YEEP Somalia, we remain committed to empowering young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent violent extremism and contribute to sustainable peace and development.
